My name is April, I am an experienced and qualified veterinary nurse. I first delved into the animal care industry in 2012, when I obtained my Cert II in Animal Studies. Since then, I have completed all of the qualifications listed beside. I complete approximately 30+ hours of Continued Education each year, so you can rest assured that I am always looking for the most up-to-date knowledge relevant to my work. In 2020, I commenced a Bachelor of Science (Animal Behaviour), as I have a keen interest and extensive knowledge base on all things related to pet mental health and wellbeing.
I have got a part-time dog, Freddie, who sparked my passion for animal behaviour. She is a rescued Border Collie x German Shepard who lives with generalised anxiety disorder, likely related to trauma in her early life but possibly also pre-disposed due to her breeds. We put a lot of work into improving her quality of life, as such, it became a burning passion. I also have 3 senior cats and 3 birds who live with me full-time, and have experience with rabbits and other pocket pets. Whenever one crosses my path, I also foster orphaned neonate kittens. I have committed much of my waking, and some of my sleeping, life to animals in all forms.
I can promise you that I will treat your animals with the same love that you do.
